Conducerea companiei farmaceutice PRO.MED.CS Praha a.s. organizează, de regulă din doi în doi ani, un concurs pentru cea mai bună lucrare ştiinţifică din domeniul gastroenterologiei şi hepatologiei. Prima ediţie a concursului a fost organizată în anul 1993 iar în anul 2005, în cinstea memoriei fondatorului ei, a Directorului General, aflat timp îndelungat în această funcţie, a importantului suporter al gastroenterologiei, Dr. Rudolf O. Bares, a fost denumită Dr. Bares Award.
